Hello and Welcome to the 2023/2024 School Year. It has been about a minute since my last blog. Summer flew by and it goes faster and faster each year. I have enjoyed my summer and have also been getting things ready for my new group of students.
The month of July was a blur. I ended up at the beach as much as possible and read some great books listening to the ocean waves. On the rainy days I prepared some of the new things that I am going to incorporate in the classroom.
I participated in some professional development and purchased new items for the classroom( although I say every year that I will not buy anymore things).
August came in the blink of an eye and now we are ready to be heading back. I will be in on Monday, along with the rest of the SOS staff and faculty. Our students come in on Tuesday and we are eagerly awaiting our new students. I spent the last 2 weeks in my room organizing, decorating and doing all the things that need to be done in order for the students to enter their new classrooms.

The lamination machine ran for a long time. I put together carts and reorganized bookshelves. The furniture was arranged and I made many things for the walls and boards.
I feel that the room is finally ready for the students.
Still a bit to get done, but here is what the room looks like so far.
