This summer many of my colleagues and myself attended workshops and PDs to further enhance our teaching. I came away with various ideas that I will be incorporating into my daily schedule. Although summer is almost over, I have spent a good part of it, planning, revamping and organizing for the upcoming school year.
I worked on a couple of projects this summer. My new theme is cactus/succulents. Everywhere I went, I seemed to have come across decor that would add to this theme and had to buy. I also painted 2 new stools for the classroom. I am eager to add them to my new classroom.
Each summer I tell myself that I won't have to buy anything to bring into my classroom, but that isn't the case. We are going to be entering a brand new, state of the art, school and I want everything to be just perfect. A lot of thought went in to how I want my room to look. I cannot wait to start putting all of the items I created or bought into the room. I am excited to go in this week and start setting it all up.
As much as I love the Summer, I am looking forward to start working in my classroom.
As much as I wish that I could wave a magic wand and have my room all set up, there are many boxes to unpack and things to bring in. My family will be glad that I am actually clearing all of the boxes from our garage.
for our morning meetings and social emotional initiative. I want all of my students to feel safe and welcome. Creating great relationships with my students will make them feel accepted and loved.
We will be getting many new students this year, and I want all of them to feel appreciated, and part of our community.
With the onset of the new school year quickly approaching, we are all going to be working diligently in our classrooms this week. Many new and exciting things will be happening in our community.
As we prepare this week to head back, I am looking forward to getting back to school and meeting our newest family members and students to our school. I am also looking forward to seeing my past students and their families. Enjoy the rest of the days of summer.
Stay tuned for more happenings and updates!!
