It's hard to believe that we are in the final stretch of the school year. Although this was not the traditional school year, we were able to ban together and work hard through the last trimester. I wish we could have been together, in person, but the circumstances prevented us from finishing up our year in our classroom.
There are only 6 school days left. It's hard to phathom how it felt like just the other day, that the children started out and now we are finalizing everything from me closing out the classroom to the children completing assignments. It sure will be a year to remember. I am sure when we look back at all of this, it will be memorable. March 13th will always leave a mark in my memory. That afternoon, we told the children to take everything home, not thinking that we would never see each other again for the remainder of the school year. I am feeling sad these past few days, knowing that I cannot properly say goodbye to my students and wish them a safe summer.
To our fifth graders, we wish you all the best in Middle School. Always know that you going to be missed. It wasn't the traditional way of sending you off, but at least, we were able to see you one final time at the Moving On ceremony.
These days, my classroom, has been outside in the beautiful sunshine. It isn't your traditional classroom, but we are getting the job done. I would much rather be inside the classroom, at school, but that wasn't the case. This was a first for me in all my 21 years of teaching, as it was a first for you as students. I am proud of the way you were able to step up and accomplish what we needed to get done.
This will be the last blog of the 2019/2020 school year. To all the fifth grade students and families, I enjoyed our times together and wish you all the best.My fourth graders and families I will continue this blog in the 2020/2021 school year. I hope everyone has a safe and fun summer!!!
