As we enter the New Year, I would like to wish everyone a Healthy and Happy one. The week before our winter break was busy and exciting all wrapped up into one. The children continued to learn, as well as, have some fun, between our subjects. We wrapped up the year with more Wonders, Reveal, and Amplify Science. We were even able to sneak in a book exchange and some fun winter games, as well as our Spirit Week.
Wonders:
We continued with Unit 3 Week 3 and are following the scope and sequence. The children are reading about people who are making differences in their community.
i-Ready:
The children continue to work on i-Ready during the enrichment block. They work on Reading and Math for up to 45 minutes within the week. The program sets at their level and they progress along as they pass lessons and score on the particular lessons they are on. The children are becoming well acquainted with the program and feel successful as they move along.
Holidays Around the World:
We continued learning about various cultures and traditions from around the world and how they celebrate the holidays. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and I was not able to get to all of the countries I had planned. However, the children did get a sample of some of the country's celebrations.
Activities in Between: Book Exchange-
The children were able to fit in some fun activities during the week as well. We held a book exchange, made ornaments and played some fun games on the last day before our Holiday break. There was fun had by all. It was great to see smiles on their faces and hear the excitement in their voices.
Making Ornaments for parents:
The children had an opportunity to measure themselves, measure out the ribbon of their length and place that ribbon inside an ornament. I hope you were able to place it on your tree and keep it as a remembrance of how tall they were when they were in 4th grade..jpg)

The children participated in some fun reindeer games. They seemed to have enjoyed the afternoon while taking part in some challenging games against each other.
Assembly- Student of the Month and Attendance:
Many of the children received awards for attendance and RICAS scores. The ribbons and certificates were given out and the excitement was seen on all their faces. It was an awesome way to start our Holiday Break.
Reading Buddies:
Our Friday wouldn´t be complete without a visit to the kindergarten to read to them. The children did a cute snowman activity with them first and then ended the session by reading to one another. The children really enjoy time spent with them.
What a week. I hope that everyone had a very Happy Holiday and a Great New Year! Looking forward to what 2025 will have in store for us. I cannot wait to see the children tomorrow and hear all of their wonderful stories.
