Good Morning, it was another week packed with learning and discovery. The children have been working diligently on projects and the curriculum. We are always so busy in our classroom and our student teacher, Ms. Rhodan has been running part of the day with her innovative and fresh ideas. Our morning meetings are a great way to start our day and get us moving for the work ahead.
Wonders:
We have moved into Unit 4 and the children are also moving right along nicely with this new unit. We are reading stories both from the anthology and the reading/writing companion books. Group work is always a hit with the children. They discuss questions and come to conclusions to the answers they are being asked.
Science:
In Science we have been researching rain forest animals. They are working with partners to create a slide so that they can present their discoveries to the class later on this week.
There is a lot of collaborating and learning taking place. I love to see how they help one another out.
The children also played a Kahoot game to review the lessons on Vision and Light that we have already completed.
i-Ready:
This past week the children took their Winter Benchmark in i-Ready. They worked effortlessly and conscientiously to get the data we needed to compare their growth.
Social Studies:
The children are working in their groups to prepare for our annual International Night presentation. They are researching foods, clothing, sports, geography and many more topics for Bolivia. They work nicely together and help one another out.
The work is done during our Social Studies time. The children seem excited and eager to get into their groups and do the work.
We are working on i-Ready and plotting our successes. Every time the children pass lessons at 90% or higher, they place their name on a block on our charts. When we fill the chart, they will be treated to reward (TBD).
