This week we celebrated Reading Week with lots of great activities and books read to the children.
We started on Monday with Camoflauge Day. We discussed the theme of Hope- Heal- Read and created what our hopes are.
Day 1: Camoflauge Day
They did a fantastic job and great conversations were started.
Day 2: Rainbow Day
The day started with more conversations about Hope and Healing, we watched a video all about hope.
The teachers also had a great time being a part of all this.
Day 3: Stop Light Day
Thursday we read And The People Stayed Home. After reading and discussing the message behind it ( staying home during quarantine and having more time to do things like reading, spending time with family) the students drew a picture/symbol of how they spent their quarantine.
With all the excitement and activities planned, the students worked on the end of the trimester writing benchmark.
Day 4: Wear Black/White Day
Day 4: Wear Black/White Day
The week ended with wearing black and white and more discussions about healing during this pandemic. Overall, we had an amazing week. We are all on the road to recovery. In between all of this we celebrated St. Patrick's Day and St. Joseph's Day.
That'a our week. We are all doing our best to heal during the very different year we have had. If we have hope, we can get through anything that comes our way.
Coming this week:
