Revamping and Organizing

We had another productive week of learning and building relationships.

We have begun our trimester writing piece- Personal Narratives.  Our writer's notebooks are being organized and we discussed what goes into a personal narrative.

As the week progresses, the children will brain storm, fill in their graphic organizer and begin to plan out their piece.

The Wonders curriculum is also underway with the children working on vocabulary words for our upcoming story and we are discussing types of sentences.  This will be ongoing for the week.

Class Dojo Store:

On Friday, 4Z was able to shop at the dojo store that I created.  The students can redeem their points for some fun treats.  Overall, it was a successful first day of shopping.  I also have created a Dojo Wall of Fame. Can't wait to see lots of names on that wall.

A Little Revamping

On our professional day on Wednesday, teachers and staff had to attend various meetings.  In between I was able to revamp some parts of the room.  I, with the help of our wonderful Wonders coach, Mrs. Grant- organized all of our Wonders materials.

Our leveled readers are organized by levels, the textbooks and practice books are on the shelves by class and we have begun reading about natural disasters, which is our first unit.

I also straightened out our focus wall and our read aloud board.

Our Kindness trees are also filling up with leaves of kind deeds.

This week we will start discussing Smart goals and setting them for ourselves.  Our Goals Wall is also ready.

The children now have a calming station set up in the classroom.  This is where they can go to take a brain break if they are in need of a little break and need to reflect.  They have each been given brain break cards and know what to do in that spot.

This upcoming week is also going to be a busy one.  We will be holding our Virtual Open House on Tuesday night.  Teachers will be sending a google meet link.
Have a wonderful week.  I am looking forward to meeting many of you during our Open House.
