Spirit Week:
We had a wonderful week showing our school spirit. Each day was dedicated to a particular theme and the children, and teachers really showed our Holiday Spirit. The children had a fun filled week all leading up to Holiday Break.
Our week also began with a breakfast from our top custodian Steve. He treated the faculty and staff to a variety of breakfast foods and treats. We are fortunate to have him.
Wonders:
We have finished up Units 1 and 2 of Wonders and are going to be starting Unit 3 when we return.
Our theme will be about things we can do to help out in our community. The children enjoy working together to complete assignments and always love working in groups.
The children learned about how many different countries celebrate the Holidays. It was great learning how they celebrate and traditions that they have. Each country had their own unique decorations and customs. The children created slides about various countries and explained how that country celebrates as their final project. The children did a wondeful job.
Holiday Book Exchange:
We held our first annual book swap. This was similiar to a Yankee Swap. The children took turns choosing a wrapped book, viewed it and decided if they wanted to keep it or exchange it with the persons before them. It was a lot of fun and great sportsmanship. It went really well and no one was disappointed with their book.
The Week in Pictures:
Here are some other pictures of various things we did during the week. The children were very excited and enjoyed the week's events. Our 5th graders also held elections for student council. What a fun filled week.
Faculty and Staff:We hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.
