We Persevere in All We Do

 These are 3 mottos I try to live by and encourage my students to do the same.  Our character trait for this month is: Perseverance.  I always tell my students to keep trying, keep going and it will happen for them.  It is hard to believe that we are already in the month of March and there is so much happening at our great school. 

 We are practicing for the RICAS testing.  The children are reviewing Math strategies to use.  UPSC is one that we have integrated into our curriculum.  It is an acronym that stands for Understand- Plan- Solve and Check.

We have been reviewing released items from RICAS and the children help one another out and are able to explain their work to one another.  During our Intervention block you will find us going over these items and strategies to better prepare ourselves for the state testing.

In Wonders we are learning about our Government and how it all works.  The children are involved in some great discussions about what it takes to be a president, how the laws are made and who is in charge of our town.  

On Friday we held our Student of the Month Virtual Assembly for the month of February.  Mr. Pacitto also introduced our new character trait for the month of March.  Congratulations to all our wonderul students.

Mr. Pacitto also announced our Lexia Winners for the month.  The children should be practicing Lexia at home.  They have a designated amount of levels to complete for the week.  They can find that amount when the first get onto Lexia.  

The children finished up their research project about a famous Black American.  They did a great job in finding out about the person they chose, planned it out using a graphic organizer and completed a poster/banner in their honor.  

Please make sure that your child is on Lexia and IXL at home for at least 15-20 minutes per night

Our Talent Show is taking place on March 17th.  If you are planning to attend please send back the form that will let us know how many are coming.

Book Projects are due tomorrow (March 6th)

Please check your child's Friday Folder, sign it and return it as soon as possible.

We will be having another spirit week starting March 20th- more information to follow.

The end of 2nd trimester is quickly approaching with report cards going out on the 17th.
