Summer is getting closer

We are getting down to the last 24 days of school and we are going to end it STRONG.  I am planning many fun activities but we are still continuing to get through this year's curriculum.  We are finished up with Wonders and the children will be reading a novel to end our ELA curriculum.  Our next big event is the Wax Museum which we are continuing our work on.

Many students are finalizing their written reports and their speeches are coming along nicely as they  practice with their peers.  I cannot wait to see them in action on the 24th.  We have invited other classrooms to come and see our great work.

Teacher Appreciation Week:

This past week, our school PTO and Mr. Pacitto really made us feel extra special.  They treated us to so much.  Treats were in our mailboxes, notes of appreciation were given, and food kept coming with a delicious breakfast to start us off on Monday, a food truck for lunch on Wednesday and a Luncheon from Mangiammo on Friday.  So very appreciated.

Integrity:

Our character trait for the month of May is Integrity.  I see it happening in our classroom and around our school. Children are doing nice things for each other, we are being honest with one another, and setting good examples for others around them.

Station Rotation:
During one of our station rotation days, we are always busy with activities such as writing, grammar, reading and working on increasing our IXL and Lexia levels.  The children have skills packets that they take out and refer to in order to practice the recommended skills.

High Five Fridays:
Our North Providence High Achool athletes visited us on Friday.  As we were  walking in the hallways and to our  classrooms, they were given out high fives to all of our students.  The children were so excited and so were the high schoolers.  Great smiles all over their faces were seen throughout the school.

Sneek Peek into the Upcoming Week:
I am planning on having the countdown to the end of the school year begin tomorrow.  We are going to be treated like royalty.
Each day one student will be our VIS-very important student.  This means that they will have special privileges throughout the day.
Can't wait to see who our first one will be tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms, grandmothers, aunts, etc who always go above and beyond for their children.
