A New Beginning

Welcome to 4th Grade!  I am thrilled with my class so far.  This week we have been getting to know one another, learning the routines and procedures and acclimating ourselves to our new classroom and classmates.  Even though we had a short week, there was a lot going on.

The room has been set up with each section serving as a functional area.  There are sections of the room designed for each content area.  the whiteboard is also divided into the 4 content areas.  The children are becoming familiar with the sections and where things are or go.

The children seem very eager to learn and are such great listeners.

Thank you for sending in the needed supplies and cleaning products.  This will set them up for success.

Finding Out About One Another:
We spent the first few days discovering what our likes are, what we love about our class and the expectations I have for each student.  We participated in many getting to know you activites, we set up our notebooks and decorated our writerś notebook with things that represent their personality.

There was a lot of movement in the class and great discussions.  The best thing I saw were all the SMILES!  It seems like everyone is happy to be back.

Have the children talked  about the toothpaste activity that we did?  It is a great lesson about being Kind and that is a huge theme in my classroom.
They will be able to tell you the importance of using kind words with each other.  They seemed to have enjoyed this activity and I could tell by the conversations they were having at their table.

It was great to watch them work together and socialize with one another.  The children seem very comfortable with their new learning space.  They have used the classroom library, our enrichment room and various spots around the room.  They work nicely together and have already shown so kindness.  I am so excited to watch your child grow this year.

For those of you who are new, or may not know Mrs.Sanchez, she  is our resource teacher.  She will be in our room a lot this year, helping her students and others throughout the day.  I am thrilled to have her working with me.  We have been working with each other for almost 15 years and we make an awesome team.   Your child may come home and tell you the stories of her and I.  Our relationship/personalities blend well together and that is why we do a great job co-teachinng.

Reminders:
