Still Learning and Making Memories

 Good Morning, this is an abbreviated blog due to the fact that I was not in school for a few days due to the death of my father in law.  It has been a grueling few days, but I am happy to be heading back into school tomorrow.  I had the substitute send me pictures of the children throughout the week.  

Countdown to Summer:

The days have been going by quickly, so on top of wrapping up with curriculum, we are also counting down to the days of summer break.  Each day is dedicated to a letter of the alphabet.  This past week went as follows:

O- Out of this world; the children watched a video on space

P- Pj's and Picnic- the children got to wear their pajamas to school and enjoy their lunch outside, picnic style.  From the looks on their faces, it looks like they enjoyed it.

Q- Questions were written down for 5th graders to answer.  

 

R-Reflection Day (no photos here) The children had a questionnaire with many questions to reflect upon from the year. 

Talent Show

Mrs. Martin, my substitute for the week, sent me pictures of the talent show.  The show was a great success and the students shined in their performances.  

Mrs. Martin also continued along with the curriculum and lessons I left.  I want to extend my thanks to her for holding down the fort and continuing where I left off.  It put my mind at ease knowing that she was covering for me.  I plan to be back for the next 8 days and not having to take any more time off.  It was a tough year for my family, but we making the best of it.  Thank you for your patience and support through all of this.  

Coming up this week:

June 5th will be Field Day for us since it had to be rescheduled.  We look forward to a fun day.
