Still Learning and Growing in 4Z

We had another busy and productive week.  We have wrapped up with the curriculum for the year.  There is still some work to be done, but for the most part, the children have completed many wonderful projects and assignments.  The report cards will be on Skyward on the 12th.

Monday- June 3rd- S is for Show and Tell Day- the children brought in a special item and talked about it to the class.  The enjoyed telling us why it was so special to them.

The children have really been enjoying the beautiful weather.  They play with each other and have lots of laughs.

In Math this past week we worked on learning more about measuring angles.  The children worked collaboratively to figure out the answers.

Tuesday- June 4th- T is for Teamwork:

The children were challenged to create the longest paper chain using only 1 piece of paper.  It was fun to hear them strategize and plan out how they  were going to do that.  The longest chain was 13 feet and 1 inch.

We finished the novel Crash by Jerry Spinelli and the children seemed to have enjoyed it.  This book has many themes; friendship, bullying and so many more.  This was an audio book and the children would follow along and then answered comprehension questions for each section.

Wednesday- June 5 U is for Under the Sea- we enjoyed a movie about the ocean.

The Create Your Own Country project also was worked on throughout the week.  The children came up with some interesting countries and put a lot of effort into it.

Thursday, June 6 was all about creating a Video of their favorite memory in 4th grade.  With a little bit of technical difficulties, the children were able to put it together and we got to enjoy what their thoughts were.

They have been working on the Summer ABC Countdown book and are coming along nicely.  I hope that the children have been having fun with these last few days and that they are memorable to them.

Friday, June 7th-W is for Watermelon.  The children got to enjoy some watermelon as a snack and we were suppose to walk but the weather did not cooperate.  They liked it just the same.  We also had a fun science experiment with Mr. Grist.  I am sure they must have mentioned it to you.

Field Day: On Wednesday the children participated in Field Dau- they had a blast.  They played games, bounce around and even danced.  We are so glad that the weather cooperates and that the children were able to have fun.  They even got lemonade from Luxe.  All in all, the day turned out great.

Friday was also our last Reading Buddies day.  The children loved to meet with their buddies and read to them.  We wish the Kindergarteners a huge success as they move on to 1st grade.

Last but not least- On Friday we also held award ceremonies for Student of the Month, Attendance and Integrity Character Trait Award.  Congratulations to Brianna for her perfect attendance award!

Only 3 more days to go for the 2023/2024 School Year!  The children are excited to begin their Summer Break.  Please don't forget to check out the summer work packets for the incoming 5th graders that Mr.Pacitto will be sending along.  Also, the supply list has been sent for the 5th graders as well.  Our last Spirit Week starts tomorrow.
