It was another productive week. Things are moving right along. Schedules are being followed, assignments are being completed and our distant learners seem to be on track and participating with in our google meets.
The days seem to fly by for me since we (the teachers) are traveling from classroom to classroom. I am sure that the days also fly for our students. They seem to be well acclimated with the routines and we are all adhering to the mask wearing and regulations.
Fourth Graders:
Our 4th graders are reading The Chocolate Touch with Mrs. Davia. Since we are not distributing actual hard copies of the book, We are using Epic with the children.I hope the children are enjoying the book and the activities that are being planned.
During our Intervention time with 4Z, I have been reading a story a day from the book: The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. I read the story, we discuss the habit and do some writing about it.
Be Proactive, Have a Plan and Work First Then Play
We have done some activities with Be Proactive and you can see it in the following pictures:
The children were given the handout and they had to place each picture inside the circle, if they had control over it or outside of the circle if it was out of their control.
They did a nice job with it and I am looking forward to doing more with the different habits. There have been some great conversations about the various habits and children are making connections with certain ones. It is great to see them excited about writing also.

We will be starting Personal Narratives in the next week or so and this leads itself well to choosing about a topic they want to write.

Fifth Grade:
Our fifth graders have also had a very productive week. We have started a novel by Gordon Korman titled Ungifted. The children seem to be enjoying it and they too are following along on Epic.
The classes are having great conversations about the book as we read. This week we will also be starting Personal Narratives and working on Adjectives and Adverbs.
Our fifth graders are also doing a great job with handing in work and taking part in their classes. We are so happy to be back and seeing the children.
Seeing this made me hopeful that things are moving along in the right direction and that things are going to be ok. We've got this!!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a wonderful week!!
