This week flew by again. With teachers moving from class to class, our days go quickly. We are all in a routine and have adjusted nicely to our new way of doing things in school. I have to commend the students for doing a great job with masks, and social distancing. It is a big change from what we used to do, but they are handling it great.
Fourth Grade News
We finished up The Name Jar and the children did a wonderful writing activity that involved finding out what their name means or how they got their name.
I enjoyed hearing their stories and they did a great job putting this together. The final products came out nicely and have been displayed outside their classroom.
We will be doing more activities like this involving other great read aloud books.
Fifth Grade News
We are continuing with Ungifted. The children seem to be enjoying the book and want to keep reading- words I love to hear. We will continue to read this week, but we are also going to be introducing the Summit Platform to the students. We will be discussing what it consists of and how it will work.
We were also able to play a Kahoot game in order to review chapters 1-3 of Ungifted. The children seem to enjoy Kahoots and many of their review sessions will incorporate the Kahoot platform.
