This will be the final blog for the 2020/2021 school year. It has been a year, very different from any other that I have taught, but we tried to keep it engaging, fun and upbeat the whole time. As our fifth graders will be leaving our school, we wish them all the best as they begin their next adventure in middle school. They will be missed, beyond words. They were a fantastic group that always kept me on my toes and made me smile even on my worse days. I have known this group of students for two years and they have left their mark.
We had a busy, but fun week so here are the moments we captured as they took part in the various theme days.
Fifth Graders:
The week started with Game Day on Monday. The students were so involved with the various games, and it was great to hear the laughter and smiles on their faces.
Beach Day was another big hit. The children really got into it, from hats to beach towels and floats. It was great to see them really getting into it. The excitement could be seen on their faces all day long.
Finally, their moving on ceremony was also another memorable day. They received certificates for the completion of elementary school and are moving on to bigger and better things. We here at Stephen Olney School wish them all the best as they begin their new journey.
Fourth Grade:
Our fourth graders also had a whole lot of fun this past week. You can see their smiles, even under their masks. I was so happy that we were able to do this for the students. They really deserved it after the year we had. We hope the memories will stay with them and that they remember these days even after they finish their high school years and beyond.
Here are the moments I captured throughout the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as we all did.
Game Day
Pinic and Paper Airplanes Day
Bubble Gum and Bubbles Day
Beach Day
Yearbook Signing and Trivia Day
The week was full and lots of happy faces all around. Wishing everyone a fun, safe and happy summer. Here's to making more memories over the summer with friends and families. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the parents/guardians for such a successful school year. Your contined support is very much appreciated an valued.
This teacher will be at her favorite place taking in the sounds and sights of the beach and hopefully reading some of the books I have been putting off due to the busy days. Have a wonderful summer everyone! Stay safe and be well!!
