Communication, Accountability and Responsiblity

We are back and feeling refreshed!

Morning Meetings

Our morning meetings have been going well.  We try to start each day with circling up and discussing various topics.  This past week we worked on breathing exercises we can do to calm us.  We also discussed what motivates us and various feelings we were having.

                                      Pen Pals/Writing

We are wrapping up the pen pals program.  We have been creating slides about RI.  We want our pen pals to see what RI is like.  Each student has done a great job representing various parts of RI.  We will also send out RI postcards before the end of the year so that, with your permission they can keep in touch during the summer, if they would like to.  All this time we have used the school address.  Some have asked if they can write to them over the summer and I told them that is up to the parents.  They do enjoy corresponding back and forth and seem to want to contine.

Grammar
This week we started learning about Adverbs.  The video presented was our introduction to them.  Taking notes and giving examples is also part of the process.

Virtual Student of the Month Assembly

On Friday, Mr. Pacitto held the virtual assembly and announced all the students of the month.  We were also introduced to May's Trait:  Responsibility

                                                        Self Care:
This week we practiced breathing strategies that can help us calm down when we are feeling a bit overwhelmed or stressed.  We listened to our breating and made ourselves aware of how we take our breaths.  It is important to become aware when feel the need to practicing these strategies. Inhaling and exhaling at a calming rate made us more aware of keeping calm and getting back on track.

GoNoodle has some great videos that the children or even adults can watch.
