Winding Down With Our First Month

 Our week flew by and it was another productive one.  We had a busy week with presentations, open house and our first Star Time Conferences.  

Open House:

I had a great turnout with parents at Open House.  It was great to put a face to the name.  I hope you found it beneficial and informative.  if you were not able to attend, I will post the slide presentation on DoJo.

Wonders:

We are continuiung with subjects and predicates for Grammar and read our story.  The genre is realistic fiction and they are continuing with Personal Narratives.  OIverall, we are progressinng along with our curriculum and Unit 1.  

Presentations:

The children worked on natural disaster slide presentations and finally presented them to the class this past week.  They did a fantastic job and put in great effort.  

Amplify Science:

We continue with Systems in Science.  The children are finding out the many parts and functions of the systems within their homes and school.  They reflect on what they read and work with partners.

Star Conferences:

On Friday we held our first star conference with the students.  I met with them individually while the others worked on assignments.  I enjoyed the one on one with them as they set goals and discussed their progress.  We will be holding these conferences once a month.  A very successful one for September.

Coming Up:

This week we will continue with Math and finishing up our Place Value Unit 2.  We will also have a vocabulary quiz and the Student of the Month reward will take place on Friday.  Have a wonderful remainder of the day.
