 Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms, aunts, grandmothers, guardians and all who are there to support, guide and love their children.  I hope you enjoy the day.

Language Arts/ Wonders

We are continuing with Opinion Writing.  The children have chosen a topic, filled in their graphic organizers, drafted and are now in the final stages of getting a final piece done.  The children have chosen some very interesting topics varying from favorite foods, time of the year, animals and so much more.

We are also continuing with Wonders.  It is our final Unit- unit 6.  A lot of it is review work but there are new stories, spelling and vocabulary words that we are working on.

Reveal Math:

We continue to work out of the Reveal Math book.  We are wrapping up decimals and working with money.  We will be moving onto Measurement and ending the year with Geometry.

Science and Social Studies:

We are continuing along with animal eyes and creating our own country.  The children seemed very engaged and involved in these 2 projects.  They are gathering up information, reading new material and organizing it so that their final products are ready to present.  I hope that the RI Scavenger Hunt is coming along at home.  I am super excited to see how the children did.

Teacher Appreciation Week:

We were treated to some special treats and goodies all week long by our PTO.  Many of my students also spoiled me with things I love.  I am so appreciative for all they have done to make us feel special.

ABC's to Summer Countdown:

We are counting down the days to Summer vacation with the ABC's.  Each day we dedicate 20 minutes to an activity related to the letter of the alphabet.  The children seem to be enjoying the activities and it is a great way to reflect on the year.

Our days are filled with laughter, learning and communication.  I am truly enjoying this class and will miss them very much.  They bring a smile to my face when I need it and make me enjoy coming to work everyday.

Upcoming Events:

The year is flying and there is so much more to do.  The Field Day and Talent Show are on May 30th.  This year our PTO has also reserved Governor Notte Park for the children to take part in some fun events during our Field Day.  Many of our SOS students are preparing for the annual Talent Show which will take place the night of May 30th.  I am so excited to see them perform.  

We will continue the ABC Summer Countdown with E, F, G, H, and I this upcoming week.
