Welcome to Room 232

Just like that, summer is over and school is back in session.  Welcome to 4th Grade.  This past week, we have been busy learning routines and procedures.  We have gotten to know one another and discovered what 4th grade will be like.  For those of you who have had a son or daughter who has already been through 4th grade, hello again.  For those of you who have a child that is just going through 4th, Welcome!!  We are going to have a very busy, productive and successful year.  I am already loving this class and I know that they  will do great things.

A Little Bit About Me
My name is Mrs. Zirilli and I am starting my 27th year.  I absolutely love teaching 4th grade and always wanted to be a teacher (since 4th grade).  I am a mom to 2 grown children ( a girl 28 and a boy 25).  I have been happily married for 32 years.  Teaching has always been my dream career, I knew I would become a teacher because of my 4th grade teacher.  She was my inspiration for being who I am today.  I plan to make this a great experience for your child and hope that they are happy and successful.
Mrs. Sanchez and I will guide your child through the bumps in the road.  We want them to become independent, successful and responsible as the year progresses.  I am a firm believer that all children can and will learn if they set their goals and put their mind to it.  I am so excited to be starting this journey with your child.  I firmly believe that nothing will stand in our way if we don´t let it.  Here is to a fantastic year!!

These past 4 days, we have read books, shared about one another, learned routines and procedures and have gotten a feel of what my expectations are to have a great year.  The children seem to be acclimating to their new classroom and teacher.  They are so polite, ambitious and ready to learn.  A teacher´s dream come true.
Below you will see us in action as we went through the past 4 days.  I want to thank everyone who sent in tissues, hand sanitizer and wipes.  They are the most needed and used within the classroom.  Also, having your child come in with the learning supplies is an extra plus.  They are setting up to be responsible and independent learners.
Some of the great things we did during the week:

I hope the children talked about some of the activities they took part in throughout the week.  They all seemed so eager and involved.
Below are pictures of the children actively participating and engaged in many of the activities of the week.  Hope you enjoy.
The children were thrilled to show their all about me bags to their classmates.

The rest of the pictures are of various things the children did throughout the week, either independently or in their group.

I cannot wait to showcase all the wonderful things your child is doing.  Our Open House is on September 18th.  Looking forward to meeting you all and you being able to see your child ´ s classroom in person.
