By the time you read this, we will officially be on Summer Break. I could not let the week pass, without updating you all on the final few days of school. They were exciting, eventful and busy. I truly am appreciative of the wonderful year that I had. This group of children was one of my best. They worked so much and made gains in their learning and socially.
Our Last Spirit Week:
The final spirit week was dedicated to summer vibes. Our student council planned the days with summer in mind.
From Spiriling into Summer to Red, White and Blue Day- we saw many excited children throughout the building. Smiles galore and laughter within each classroom was heard, daily.
The spirit at SOS is top notch. Our teachers and staff also participated. We look forward to planning next year´s events with our new student council members.
Our ABC Summer Countdown:
As the week went on, we also had our last 5 days of the countdown into our summer break.
V- Video: I created a slide presentation from our very start of the school year to present. The children enjoyed seeing their growth and the great activities we did throughout the year.
W- Watermelon: The children were treated to juicy, fresh watermelon, along with some other watermelon treats. They seemed to have enjoyed them.
X- I gave out excellence awards on Wednesday. This was another day of excitement and the children seemed to have liked it.
Y- Year End Cleaning
Many of the children love cleaning, is what I saw at school- Not sure if they like it at home.
The children cleaned out their lockers, washed their tables and took home supplies that were in school.
Z- Zooming out into Summer Break
We were able to spend some time outside and take in the beautiful weather. The children played card and board games.
The 5 Day Balloon Countdown:
This final week of school I added the 5 day balloon pop. Each balloon had a special theme for the day inside. Once we popped it, the children knew what the day would revolve around.
Monday:(5)- We had bubble day, the children were supplied with an assortment of bubbles and once we went outside, they were able to blow bubbles.

The other days included, sit where you would like, chew bubble gum throughout the day, and bring in board games. The children enjoyed having to balloon popped and to discover what was inside.
Our Final Week:
The children completed their week with many enjoyable activities. We had an assembly for the third trimester attendance, we held a special game involving miniature ducks to find within the room, lots of cleaning organizing and signing of yearbooks, and our final time with our K Reading Buddies.
On the Last Day:
Our day went by quickly. The children kept busy with board games and an extra long recess with the Kindergarteners. They spend time with each other, they laughed, they played and they walked out of Room 232 for the last time at dismissal.
Now it is time to say goodbye to all of you. I truly appreciate all of the guidance and support you provided to your child. As they begin their summer break, I wish each and everyone of you a safe, fun filled few weeks. I have reminded them of their summer packets. I hope they are able to maintain all that they learned and hold onto all the memories they made this year. I also want to express my sincere thanks to all who sent in gifts and treats. I will be using all the gift cards as the weeks progress. It will be a treat to go shopping and know which student has ¨bought me¨ the items I end up with. I hope you have enjoyed the many weeks of this blog and were kept well informed. Have a wonderful summer!!!
Good Bye and I hope that this year brought everyone happiness and memories to your child.
