Happenings in our Classroom

Our ABC Summer Countdown Continues:

We are continuing with our countdown to summer. The children seem to be enjoying our daily activities.

Letter H- We danced the hula for Hawaii day. The children dressed in tropical clothing and You Tube showed us some moves to dancing the hula.

Letter I- The children were able to enjoy Ice Pops outside at recess. It was a refreshing treat.

Letter J- Jeans and Jerseys were worn

Letter K- Kindness The children wrote why they should be kind to one another

Letter L- Letter Writing; the children wrote letters to the incoming 4th graders

Letter M- Museum Day- we watched a video of the Natural History at the Smithsonian. The video was about fossils and dinosaurs

Letter N- Numbers Day: The children worked on Math involving many of the year´s topics like place value, adding, subtracting, multiplication and division to name a few.

                          Letter O-  Outer Space Day- the children were able to enjoy a video                                    about outer space and the various planets of the solar system, galaxy, 

                          stars and so much more. 

                                   

                            Letter P- The children enjoyed a snack of popcorn and Played 

                            many fun games during our Field Day.

                                                   

Mental Health Awareness Month:

Our social workers and school psychologist put together a great activity for the children on May 23rd.

The children all gathered in the cafeteria and designed ribbons.

Field Day:

On Friday, the children participated in the annual Field Day.  We started off at the school and in the afternoon went over to Gov. Notte Park.  

                                        Student of the Month

Our last one took place on Friday.  It was quite a year, so many students were chosen, character traits every month and celebrations to go along with them.

Congratulations to all our students of the month.  It is quite the accomplishment.

Special Art Class:

The children made ceramic pieces during their art class 2 weeks ago, last week they painted them and were put in the kiln.  Thanks to one of our parents, who took this on, the children will be bringing them home soon.

With the end of the school year almost here, there are many activities and events planned.  Stay tuned for more information to follow.  There will be assemblies, one more spirit week and continuation of our summer ABC countdown.
