It was a short week, but boy did we do a lot. The class continued with Wonders (Unit 1 Assessment), we took a Math Unit 3 Assessment and in between worked on a lot more of our curriculum. The air is getting crisp, the days are flying and we are all doing lots of work and collaborating throughout the days.
Tuesday:
More review took place as we worked in our Reading/Writing Companion book. The children worked both independently and in their group to get things done.
There are always times during the day where the children have opportunities to help one another out and collaborate with each other. Wonders is one of those times. If someone is stuck or needs a little extra help, we all do our part to help out a classmate.
Wednesday:
In Science the children are moving right along with Electrical Systems. The read a book titled, Systems and collaborated on getting the pages done in their Investigation Notebook. The conversations were happening and they all seemed on task.
In Social Studies we have been working on a flip book titled, Where in the World are We?
We have also started a writing piece on Opinions. The children are still in the early phases of this with brainstorming, choosing a topic and doing some research on the topic they chose. This upcoming week they will begin to put the paragraphs together with reasons and details to support their opinion.
The children enjoyed the breakfast and were so appreciative. We had a blast making it for them.
We took a math and Wonders assessment on Friday. The children seemed focused and on task as they worked on them. I was also able to take small groups up to review the Math before taking the test.
