Moving Right Along

Our Week flew right by, just like the weekend.  We were very busy in Room 232 and the children seem to be thriving.  Our week was full of learning and lots of collaborating.

Monday-

Our week began with National Day of Writing.  We always write daily but Monday was super special.  The children wrote all the reasons they write.

Max the Therapy Dog:

We had a great visit from Max on Monday.  The children loved hearing about him and all the great things he does.

Tuesday:
After Monday´s excitement we got right back into our work.  We started a new unit in Wonders and picked up where we left off with Math.

It was also Apple Crunch Day which took place in their library class.  At 11:00  everyone stopped and took a bite out of their apple, provided by one of our local farms.

The Rest of the Week:

Our week progressed rather nicely.  We continue to work in Wonders and Reveal.  Our writing/research has to do with Spiders.  The children chose a spider to read about and are researching about them.  We will finalize the project this upcoming week.

We are also working on finishing up our Opinion Piece and our Science unit on Electricity continues

Children continue to collaborate and work with one another.  The discussions are great to hear and the children love to help one another.

Whether we are working in Wonders, Math or any other subject, the children are on task, helping one another or working independently to get the work completed.  It is great to watch the children communicate with each other and learn with one another.

It was another great week and the weeks are just moving right along.

Spirit Week is happening starting today.  Our Student Council put together some great days of fun.  Hope to see everyone participating in the fun.
Flower Boxes:
Our Kindergarten and 2nd graders have adopted a flower box to keep and maintain during the next few months.  Our class is partnering up with the third graders and will do something fun with one of the flower boxes out in the school yard.  The pictures below are what the 2nd graders did.

Have a wonderful week!
