Our Weekly Adventure

As we finished up another week, there are many things that the children were able to do and things we are still working on.  The days are going by quickly and our time together is coming to an end.  I am so fortunate to have had such a wonderful class this year.  Take a look at what we did throughout the week.
Monday:
We began the week with Wonders and being introduced to the essential question, story, vocabulary and writing.  Each week in Wonders is packed with so much and the children persevere as they start off the week.  They know the drill and what is expected of them.

Tuesday:

Our day started with Wonders  and discussing our new writing assignment.  The children were eager to start, but as usual, there is a process to go through before they can start writing.  So, we discussed a How To assignment.

We also had a lesson on proverbs/adages and they each chose one to display.  Our morning slides allow for the children to get themselves ready and know what is coming up for the day.

Wednesday:

The next couple of days we did some practice for the upcoming Math RICAS testing.  The children came up and showed one another how to solve various math problems that they may or may not come across on the assessment.  It was great to watch the children "teach" one another and come up with solutions to the particular math problems.

Thursday:

As the children came in, they prepared for the first session of the Math RICAS.  They seemed ready and showed great effort on their part.  As the afternoon progressed they continued on proverbs and making a special surprise for Mr. Pacitto in honor of principal day on Friday.

Friday:

Our week ended with the student of the month virtual assembly and Star Conferences.  During this time we were able to set new goals for the month of May and discuss their progress.  We tallied up the Star Bucks that they earned for the month and I will announce who earned the most on Monday.  It was a quick but very busy week for all of us.  Today was Principal Day so the children had written a special message to Mr.Pacitto and Mrs. Sanchez put the pages together in a book for him.

We have one more day of state testing which will take place on Tuesday.  There is still so much to finish up.  We will be starting our ABC's to Summer soon.  More information to follow.  Each day will be dedicated to a special topic starting with A and ending with Z on the very last day.  Stay tuned for the adventures to begin.  Also, this upcoming week is Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Day.  The children are working on a special treat for Mrs. Poirier and we cannot wait to give it to her.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
