Ms. Gambardella put together a wonderful week of events and activities for everyone to participate in. On Monday, Mr.Pacitto kicked it off by reading The Most Magnificent Thing. All week long we listened to Mystery Readers as we tried to guess who each one was. We had a virtual event on Thursday called Reading Inspires and a guest reader- Mrs. Lantagne read Oh, The Places You Will Go. We ended Friday with an SEL vocabulary parade.

Wonders:
We just finished up with Unit 4 of Wonders. This week we begin with Unit 5 as the children continue to explore in their anthologies and discuss their thoughts with their groups. They continue to work in their reading /writing companion books.
Reveal Math:
We have begun working with Fractions- ordering and equivelant ones. The children are using manipulatives to order them. The discussions we are having in math class are wonderful to hear. During our Enrichment time, we have been working with our groups to get more exposure to how the RICAS assessments are set up and practicing released items.
Science/Social Studies:
We are busy working on our Live Wax Museum projects. The children are working on speeches, written reports, timelines and finding out all they can about their famous Rhode Islander. I am so excited to see the final products and them dressed as their person. We listened to some speeches in order to know how to put one together.
We are also working on Famous Women Posters for this month. There is just so much going on in the classroom that I hope I haven't left anything out. We are non-stop throughout the days. You will always find us having discussions, doing research, working in groups, working independently or reading a book.
I can't forget to mention the Penny Wars. We are raising money for our field day. This is a school wide event. There are buckets designated for each grade level. The children are bringing in loose change (silver coins preferred for our bucket). The silver coins give us points. We bring in pennies to put into other buckets (those deduct points). This is such a fun competition.
Continue to send in those coins for our Penny Wars.
RICAS Assessments will start April 3rd for 4th graders
Picture day is on the 25th
I just can't believe how fast the school year is going.
Spirit Week along with a RICAS pep rally will take place the week of March 18th. More information to follow- stay tuned!!!
